Why We Need eCHN

Your child may be required to move around to a variety of health care providers in different facilities and locations. Each visit can produce new medical information which forms an essential piece of the entire health picture for the patient. It is important that the medical professionals caring for your child be able to access his/her medical history and recent updates as quickly and easily as possible. Accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date patient information is vital to medical decision-making.

eCHN enables a vital transfer of patient health information among health care providers that is rapid and seamless. By meeting this important requirement of our health care system, eCHN is working to improve the health of every child in the province.

If you wish, you may revoke consent for the release of your child's personal health information to eCHN from any member facility you visit. You may also revoke consent for access to your child's existing information on eCHN for any member facility you visit.
